Our Land, Our Future.
The National Land Commission of Sierra Leone was set up by an Act of Parliament in 2022 to manage the three tier lands, private, state lands and private lands, with a view of eliminating land conflicts. The Statutory functions of the commission are;
1. Land title registration
2. Mapping and surveying of all three tier lands
3. Maintaining an inventory of all public, private and community land
4. Establishment of land redress committees to look into and settle land disputes.

The act provides for Presidential prerogative in the appointment of the Commissioner General, Deputy Commissioner general and the Chairman Board of Directors. All three appointees, were fully approved by the Parliament of Sierra Leone by the close of 2023 and now work according to their designate functions.
The commission is being supervised by the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning(MLHCP), led by the Minister, Dr. Turad Senesie and the Permanent Secretary. With funds provided by the World Bank to the MLHCP led Sierra Leone Land Administration Project (SLLAP), the commission access funds for initial set up activities, managed by SLLAP.
